Castles in progress

Just wanted to drop in a give a preview of what I've been working on since my sewing machine has returned!

Les Amis Sandcastle Quilt block

Here is a block out of my castle quilt that is in progress. I am using Les Amis fabric, and the pattern is titled Sandcastles and can be found in Australian Patchwork & Quilting magazine Vol 20 No 12. I also have seen this particular pattern for sale by itself at I'm having so much fun with this project! I love all the little animals! Can't wait to see what it looks like when all the different colors come together and it's all laid out.

I also pieced the backing for a Halloween quilt that I am going to be quilting myself. It will be the first quilt that I've quilted myself with something other than stitch in-the-ditch and also the biggest quilt I've ever quilted myself. Hopefully I'll be making good progress on all of this over the weekend!

  1. What technique are you planning in using for the Halloween Quilt?

  2. I am planning to free-motion quilt spider webs and ribbon candy.

  3. Cute quilt pattern, can't wait to see it finished! :)
