Clovers Over and Over

I wanted to make a housewarming present for my husband's sister's husband's grandparent's who hosted Easter dinner so I set out to make a little table runner. I found the pattern at Moda Bake Shop.
I used left over Charms of Papillion I had laying around and left over yardage of the same line that I had bought because I still have a untouched Layer Cake of Papillion waiting to be used. Their is nothing worse than finishing a quilt top and you can't get the yardage anymore so you can't match the borders or backing.

When I finished the top I was worried it was as bright as what I had expected it to be.

Once I got it bound a quilted I really liked it though. I kept the quilting really lite because I was worried a heavy quilt would take away from it's lightness, if that makes any sense.

Zombie cat was very interested in helping me bind the quilt.

And even Friday cat got in on the action despite the fact that he rarely gets on the sofa.

I gave the quilt to them today and they seemed to really like it. If I had to do it over, I wouldn't have done the white hearts, I would have done another color and I also would had Satin stitched a second time around the hearts because although I had the stitch as tight as my machine would do it, it still looked a little skimpy in spots. Other than that, I'm pleased, for whipping it out concept to finish in less than one week.
