Start Following the Leader

I like to have a few different projects in a few different stages going all the time. Maybe today I don't want to look at pastels, or I don't want to cut fabric. It's nice to have options. So, one of the projects I've been slowly working on, but I'm in no rush to finish is my Follow the Leader quilt from the American Patchwork & Quilting April 2011 Issue 109. I had this magazine for quit some time and I liked the quilt, which appears on the cover, but it wasn't till I started flipping though old magazines to try to find a scrap quilt pattern that I decided I actually wanted to make it.
Uneven nine-patch
So far, I have just completed the 63 "uneven nine-patch" blocks that get set on point in columns to form the center of the quilt. I need to make a trip, hopefully this weekend, to my favorite quite shop to buy reproduction fabric from to pick up more tans and whites. Most of the reproduction neutrals I have in my stash are a bit to busy for what I'm trying to do here. Once I've done that, then I can start the setting triangle and making the flying guess, but like I said, I'm really enjoying this project and I'm in no rush.
