Baltimore Beginnings

I have been spending the lions share of my time working on my Baltimore challenge quilt. I've also spent a lot of time trying to decide if I wanted to share it here while it's in progress before I show it at guild. It seems odd since it's like a "competition" to show it before it's through, but I decided to do it anyhow.

This is what I have so far, but there is still a lot to go. I'm making a lot of decisions as I go, so I really don't know exactly what the final product will look like, but cross your fingers it will all work out!

  1. This is too cute! My daughter lives in Glen Bernie and I have a magnet with that logo. Evidently that is where she got engaged. I always look for the billboard when we go into Baltimore! Where do you like to go for fabric? We always go to Catonsville and Annapolis.

    1. This quilt is actually a tribute to just that. My husband bought my engagement ring from Smyth's which does have a very similar add and a billboard (I have the bumper sticker) and he proposed to me at the inner harbor. In my personal opinion Patches in Mount Airy is by far the best quilt shop in the area. It's about a 40 minute drive for me, from Ellicott City, but they have such a big variety and the staff is very knowledgeable and patient. We are getting a new quilt shop next month, so maybe we will have a new contender.
