Door Jammers

I got invited to a baby shower so Im working on a quilt for the mother to be. I was skimming the internet for some ideas of something small I could give with the quilt and came across a tutorial by CraftyBridge to make something called a Door Jammer.

The idea is that you slip this around each side of a door handle so that you can close a door without making any noice so you don't wake baby which makes a ton of sense! I made both in a half hour with scraps from the baby quilt (which isn't done yet) so they will match perfectly.  I hope the mom-to-be loves these!

Something Scrappy

I needed a new project while I wait for my sashing fabric to come in to complete my City Sampler, so I started the scrappy trip around the world.

You can find the tutorial to make this quilt here and it is super easy and super fun! I am making a lap size so I cut 180 2 1/2" strips all from stash. A lot of the strips I cut from yardage as opposed to fat quarters so I actually got enough to count as 2 strips from the single cut. I also cut into a Hello Luscious jelly roll that I had in my stash for a long time. I love a rainbow stack of fabric! It's one of my absolute favorite things!

As of this morning, I have 12 out of my 30 blocks pieced and this what It's shaping up to look like! What an easy fun stash-busting quilt and what a great way to get to cross a trip around the world off of your "Quilts I want to make" list!

Rainbow binding

I haven't ordered sashing for my City Sampler quilt yet as I haven't been able to find the perfect tonal yet. I still haven't decided how to do my quilt back yet. Do I want to do a solid? Do I want to do a single Tula Pink print? Do I want to do another scrappy back like the one on my Oriental Dreamweaver? I just haven't decided yet!

What I do know is that I want a rainbow binding of 9 different Tula Pink prints so I made that!

Now, if I could just make all of the other decisions I need to make I would be in great shape!
